Contaminated Land

Contaminated Land

With the implementation of the contaminated land provisions of the Environment Act 1995 and the new planning guidance for development on contaminated land, the concerns and liabilities of the ownership of land are increasing. This means that original polluters and current owners or occupiers may have unlimited liability to pay for site clean-ups.

Joynes Pike has extensive experience of advising on the identification, assessment and remediation of contaminated land. The contamination could be of water, soil, gas or a combination thereof.

Whatever the situation, we have the technical expertise and resources to assess the perceived problem and ensure a cost-effective approach to any necessary remediation.

We have particular experience in liaison with the Regulatory Authorities and in undertaking appropriate studies, which lead to 'suitable for use’ reclamation.
