Laura
I joined Joynes Pike in December 2004 after graduating from University with an MSc in Environmental Management and a 2.1 BSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Science.
I sent a speculative CV to Joynes Pike and was offered a position as a Graduate Environmental Scientist working in the Geo-Environmental Team. My main responsibilities include supervising site investigations, carrying out and reporting Phase I and II assessments, involvement in remediation projects and liaison with Clients, the Environment Agency and Local Authorities. At the moment, the projects I am involved in are mainly housing and commercial redevelopment sites.
Working for Joynes Pike is varied, challenging and hard work but in turn you are made to feel valued and appreciated. I have recently been rewarded with a promotion to Environmental Scientist and am taking on more responsibilities including Project Management.
The training Joynes Pike provides is exceptional, they actively support their Engineers to become Chartered and pay for your annual professional subscription. Working for a Multidisciplinary Consulting Engineering firm means I often work alongside Geotechnical, Civil and Structural Engineers enabling my knowledge of other aspects of engineering to grow.
Socialising is also actively supported in our office and we have a generous social fund provided by the company that we make very good use of!
