I joined Joynes Pike in 2002 after graduating from University. I chose Joynes Pike mainly because I had heard good things about them as a Consulting Engineering practice. As time progressed, I was given more and more responsibility, progressing from doing calculations to running small projects. The biggest contrast between university and the world of work is working towards deadlines, to budgets and keeping your focus firmly on the end product.
My responsibility grew and I was promoted to Planning Supervisor, this allowed me to expand my health and safety knowledge as well as my civil and structural abilities. I have recently been promoted to a Principal Engineer position and now run large structural engineering and CDM Co-ordinator projects. The atmosphere here is fantastic, everyone works hard, we all get on well and there is a very good social side to work too!
